I just got back from my trip to Kansas. I forget how much I miss it until I get to wake up to the sound of birds chirping, or to be outside at night and hear the frogs croaking and the crickets chirping after a solid rain. I forget the colors of Kansas too, with all four seasons represented Kansas has many shades. This time of year you can be faced with cloudy overcast skies that come pre-packaged with thunderstorms and tornado’s, or it could be a bright sunny day, the air thick enough to cut with a knife. I forget about the golden rods that shoot up from the ground that paint the landscape with an ocean like flow of gold’s and amber’s in the wind. I love Kansas-it is my home-but I am also a stranger to its wild ways.
