Okay, so I have been working on this one for a while. I realized I didn’t really take many pictures on my trip so I had to go looking for some to give you the full experience. Some of you may be asking yourself if you really knew I was going on a trip and most likely you did not… not that I don’t love you, I just kinda went with out this time and flew by the seat of my pants. So my journey starts….here!
I flew from Santa Barbara to Newark New Jersey about 3 weeks ago to do nothing else but buy car J So I took the late flight out of good ole Santa Barbara on a Thursday and landed in little Newark New Jersey Friday morning and so it begins.
So I bought my car and got on the road at about 1pm NJ time and headed for my first stop of Columbus Ohio, to see none other than the…. Huizenga Family!!!! Hi Guys!! Thanks for letting me crash! I got to see their New home, and meet the newest addition to the family….jax and watch matt practice for his first year playing football and read a bedtime story to matt and Ethan and of course catch up with Chrissy and Steve! Thanks guys I am soo happy for you and although I miss you dearly I am soo happy and proud of your accomplishments!
Onward and upward…or not soo much upward…to KC for the night! So I headed out of Columbia and got on the road around noon. It was a great day! It was rainy at first and on my way out of Ohio almost made connections with my SB little in Cedarville! Just missed her though L she was flying in to start her 2cd year of college and is doing amazing! Soooo since I missed her I took a couple memorable pictures for just because….Hey Mailia!! Good luck this year! I am also very proud of you and your accomplishments you are truly amazing I
I also stopped in Montrose Illinois for an afternoon run and jump rope sesh in crazy heat and humidity. After that little jaunt again almost made connections with a previous SB roomie in Staunton Illinois. Hey Whit! I am soo proud of you and, I love hearing about you and how you are perusing your photography career. Keep it up girly!
So while continuing my journey I finally made it too KC around 10pm and met up with my long lost sister Jayme and met her bf David…by the way David your super nice and I approve J We must meet up again soon, girls night…sorry David…I can’t wait to see you, except this time we will hang out for real! Also want to say huge thanks for arranging my stay and the Chateau Avalon…It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!
So where are we now??? Sunday Morning—Kansas City Kansas—going to??? Kansas City MO…to meet with??? None other than Bob Ryan and the fam!!! So Sunday morning I got up and at-um and headed to KC, MO to go to church with Ryan’s at IHOP (International House of Prayer) definitely worth checking out. It was great to see you all and it was super awesome getting to meet the newest addition to the Ryan fam, she is absolutely a doll! After a morning of worship and a family lunch I headed to my hometown and made it just in time for my moms surprise birthday party! It is was great to be back in good ole’ Great Bend Kansas for a full day and a half. My sister came into town and we had a much needed sister time. I love you!!! And I miss you!!!
So Tuesday I headed to Colorado! I lovvveee Colorado!!! On my way to my stop for the night (Grand Junction) and met up with the Sanguinetti’s in Colby! Had a great lunch with them! It was great to see you and catch up!! Now on to my love…Colorado!!!! So everything was going sooo great until….I had a tire blow out in Denver…okay so I love Colorado…but Denver and I are not friends…not sure what I did but I am calling a truce….So after that I got on the road again and made little stop in Dilon and then onto Grand Junction for the night. Capped off the night with a swim and another jump rope sesh J good night!!!
So Wednesday was my big day! I got up went for a mountain bike ride, came back for a run and was homeward bound by 10. I made it back to SB!!! YAY! So I got on the road and made a flying trip to SB to pull in just in time to go to Creekside J
Thus ends my journey, I made it and I actually think I would be down to fly solo again, a little bit of Amelia and a lot of gumption. …That’s all folks…Just Kidding!! So I made it back Wednesday night, and had just a enough time to get in a bit more practice for the Santa Barbara Triathlon, where I took 2cd in the Women’s only sprint 19-24 age group… 1st time and super stoked !
All in all it was a great trip, filled with great music, a fantastic journey, and an enormous amount of time for reflection
